Можно метафорично сказать, что CAN - это нервная система автомобиля. John Lipsey<p>Morning, Mastodon! I upgraded <a href="https://dragonscave.space/tags/Loopback" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Loopback</span></a> yesterday to the latest version, and now everything either sounds super static-filled when I'm using Loopback audio devices, or there's no audio at all. Other than updating Loopback, I've made no other changes. Help? Thanks in advance.</p>
Kelvin n0mql EN35ld<p>The <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/AltText" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AltText</span></a> is very, very important for understanding the point of this post.</p><p>Because of <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/HamRadio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HamRadio</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> hobbies, I have more sources of audio than your average bear might want to hear or manage. So I've got a desktop mixer that connects to my main <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/MacMini" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MacMini</span></a> via USB.</p><p>Adding <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/AirPodsPro2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AirPodsPro2</span></a> to this pile has been GREAT, thanks to <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/Loopback" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Loopback</span></a> from <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/RogueAmoeba" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RogueAmoeba</span></a></p>
Kelvin n0mql EN35ld<p>I'd used <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/RogueAmoeba" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RogueAmoeba</span></a> software decades ago.</p><p>Got my 1st set of <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/AirPods" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AirPods</span></a> for light <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/HearingAid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HearingAid</span></a> use, but folds into my mostly-Apple network of devices.</p><p>What about <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/Radio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Radio</span></a> ? I dislike constant internet stream. I want real RF. Car Stereo on my desk for <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/TheCurrent" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheCurrent</span></a> KCMP, &amp; HF rig through same desktop mixer.</p><p>Well R.A. <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/LoopBack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LoopBack</span></a> is perfect. I can take the <a href="https://mastodon.hams.social/tags/Behringer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Behringer</span></a> mixer USB input to Mac &amp; route it to the 'Pods.</p><p>Teams audio can hit this same virtual output.</p><p>But can GoTo? Hell no.</p>
Gary Parker<p>Finally figured out how to <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/chromecast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>chromecast</span></a> audio from non-chromecast capable apps on my <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Ubuntu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu</span></a> machine (<a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Plexamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Plexamp</span></a>). <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Pulseaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pulseaudio</span></a> and the pulseaudio-dlna component make it almost as easy to use as <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/LoopBack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LoopBack</span></a> on my <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Mac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mac</span></a></p><p>Seriously, the only thing I’m really missing on this machine now is <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://tapbots.social/@ivory" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>ivory</span></a></span>, and I could make do with an alternative <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> app if only there were timeline position sync (there used to be an open one for Xwitter back in the day, would be nice to see something similar for mastodon)</p>
Betalogue<p>I was initially tempted to blame a bug in one of my third-party <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@RogueAmoeba" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>RogueAmoeba</span></a></span> audio tools, namely either <a href="https://toot.community/tags/SoundSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SoundSource</span></a> or <a href="https://toot.community/tags/Loopback" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Loopback</span></a>. But I knew very well it was actually more likely to be macOS itself.</p><p>Ended up force-quitting <a href="https://toot.community/tags/coreaudiod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>coreaudiod</span></a> and <a href="https://toot.community/tags/systemsoundserverd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>systemsoundserverd</span></a> in <a href="https://toot.community/tags/ActivityMonitor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ActivityMonitor</span></a> and… sure enough, things were back to normal after that.</p><p>Today’s Apple for ya. A picture of software unreliability and untrustworthiness.</p><p>2/2</p>
