Switched to PlayonLinux for more convenient config. Still no clue how to get ASIO to work. There is a "wineasio" install feature but that only works in 32bit. But i need a 64bit for TONEX to work, right?!

webresearch so far without any clue.

Btw TONEX loads but the preferences window's respnose is also pretty bad.

that was a not that successful sunday.

@bedlamsteps well I'll be a monkey's uncle, I got Soundtoys (the only plugin I've tried so far) working on Ubuntu 25 using wine 10 and an automated build of yabridge.

See this reddit thread for deets: reddit.com/r/linuxaudio/commen

That said, I have the u-he plugins now, which are great, so I'll probably try to stick mostly with Linux native. But come on, super plate and echoboy are AWESOME!

OK here we go, #Benben v0.7.0-rc2 is up, with a Linux x86-64 AppImage available for download from the source repository!

https://chiselapp.com/user/MistressRemilia/repository/benben/wiki?name=Releases

RC2 fixes a few issues with command line arguments, and also fixes the AppImage so that libout123 works.

Note that Benben is currently in a code freeze, which means that no new features will be added until the final v0.7.0 is released. Just bug fixes for now.

Ok, it seems my next task is to get ASIO somehow to work with wine.

And i have to figure out wine configurations. Just hitting "wine start" does really just load 32bit stuff!?!? (noobest of noobs here)

At least i found that there is a wineasio but i don't get it to work.

And nvidia and wine seem to also not really like each other.

What a bucket of fubar overall.

Important milestones achieved in my #FOSS #LinuxAudio Dante implementation - Inferno:

It should be safe to use it even when NTP time synchronization is enabled - this is useful on long-running and potentially even 24h/d setups (let me know if you use it this way!)

We have automated test verifying that audio transfers are sample-perfect! It means no more manual testing before merging bigger changes.

As a side effect of containerized test, we have Dockerfiles, but they probably won't be useful on a desktop system where audio server is used.

My dear #LinuxAudio friends:

I have some really cool news!!

Have you seen PWAR?

It has a huge ton of potential to grab those who want to move to Linux, but won't leave behind a favorite app or two on Windows.

This has the potential to be HUGE for Linux musicians!! I would love it if you did an article about it to give it more publicity. :)
