God bless the archivers for scanning these gorgeous Sailor Moon Laserdisc® covers.

This one has the Sailor scout I wish I could be, and the one I had the biggest crush on as a child together.

A Sailor Moon laserdisc box cover.
It shows a beautiful illustration of Mako and Ami next to each other, smiling at the viewer. Their shadows of their hair have a clipping affect that reveals the starry, blue and green gradient behind them.

Another obscure disc I have: the Amon Saga from 1986.
The front features a beautiful, gothic lithograph from Yoshitaka Amano. You can also see Amano's influence in the character design in the animation.
This basic, high fantasy story is a little more style than substance. But having the physical copy, you can see what a beautiful piece of art it is.
Instead of an obi, we've also got a corner talker, which is unusual.

Showing off my modest anime LD collection: This one is for Metal Fighter Miku. It is sealed, and doesn't have the usual adhesive flap of Japanese media. So I will probably never watch it.
What's nice is these were produced when Digital Audio was standard to pair with the Analog video. It also has CLV playback, giving you 60mins per side.
One cool visual feature is the big image on the back. It's a frame from the ending theme, but Miku's figure has a cast shadow that looks almost like this was from one of the original animation cels.
This series is a pretty basic. But still a cool sythesis of pro-wrestling and magical girl themes.
