kind of hard tuning 3x osc1 with each other and then also adding in tuning for 3x osc2 a fifth above its osc1 (loosely paraphonic) but really nice, weird drift - lovely to have a sequencer that also adds so much probability as well

Here the red dwarf #K2-18 photographed last night 17th April 2025 from observatory Y71 Makroskooppi. The Webb telescope has detected possible #biosignature signal of dimethyl sulfide/DMS/DMDS gas in the atmosphere of the super-Earth-sized #exoplanet #K2-18b orbiting it.

The star K2-18 is located under the constellation Leo. In this image, there is a field of view around the star about the size of the moon, the brighter star to the right of K2-18 is HIP 56079 with a brightness of 6.7mag.

Middle of the image is an orange-red dwarf star K2-18. Exoplanet K2-18b is orbiting the star, but of course exoplanet is not visible in this image.

А на самом деле — телескоп James Webb с вероятностью 99% обнаружил в атмосфере экзопланеты K2-18 b диметилсульфид. На Земле этот газ в основном производит фитопланктон, поэтому его считают возможным маркером жизни. Но это не доказывает, что на планете есть жизнь, и тем-более не означает, что там живёт фитопланктон... Это лишь говорит о высокой вероятности наличия самого газа. А вот происхождение его — вопрос открытый. Сейчас учёные проверяют, не закралась ли ошибка в спектральный анализ, и можно ли получить такой газ без участия живых организмов. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Avete seguito l'ultima? Un pianeta a 124 anni luce, tracce di molecole prodotte solo da organismi viventi e dati che potrebbero riscrivere la nostra storia. K2-18b sta facendo parlare di sé perché, per la prima volta, abbiamo qualcosa che somiglia davvero a una prova di vita aliena. Ma facciamo chiarezza.

Some time ago, #Elecraft stopped making the 100W #amplifier module for their #K2 kit radio. However, all is not lost, as the #KXPA100 solid-state switching amplifier designed for their KX3 radio can work great with the K2, after a small mod to the K2. I describe this mod in the blog article linked below. As a result, I can send #CW on my K2 at 100W with silent switching and full QSK. The KXPA100 is equipped with a 100W ATU, giving full flexibility regarding the antenna.

Matt's Musings · Elecraft K2 Amplifier Keying CircuitI have been building an Elecraft K2 kit radio , and I completed construction this Easter weekend. When I ordered the kit, I didn’t order the internal ATU or the 100W amplifier option, as I already have an Elecraft KXPA100 amplifier with KXAT100 ATU . However, this amplifier is designed to work with the KX3 radio, and so to get it to work with the K2, I would need to build up a keying circuit.
