Francois Dion<p>One synth I used here is the Roland HS-60. Never heard of it? It was also known as the Roland Synth Plus 60. Still doesn't ring a bell? Remove the speakers, the expression pedal input and give it a different paint job and it becomes the Roland Juno-106. This is my second HS60. Mein <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Juno106" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Juno106</span></a> (Mitte 80er) ist eine Kiste aus Blech und Holz. Der JD-XA (Mitte 2010er) ist ein Plastikeimer mit kaputten Schaltungen. Der ehemalige Mitbewohner hatte schon einen Draht als Kühlkörper auf den fiesen IC gesetzt, aber im Sommer reicht der nicht… nun habe ich die große OP gemacht. Leider ist das Ding nun auch… laut. Trotz Silent-Lüfter.</p><p>Das betreffliche Bauteil ist ein Spannungsregler, der einem 4-Kanal ADC vorgeschaltet ist. Wenn der wild wird, dann gibt's nur noch fiesesten Krach aus der Kiste.</p><p>Leider aber war die Reparatur nicht erfolgreich. Seit der Lüfter drin ist, spielt der Synth einen Ton permanent. Ist aber keine Störung durch den Lüfter, da ist was auf der Fischfutter-Platine nun im Argen.</p><p>Ganz schön scheiße für ehemals 2048€.</p>

"Choose a word and put it before “techno.” Those two words in combination are your new subgenre"</p><p>This jam was driven by an Arturia Beatstep Pro, clocking a Drum Brute Impact. Two synths were used: Juno-106 and a Moog Subsequent 25. The Sub 25 had a Line 6 delay inserted on it's channel and the mixer send effects ran though an Ocean's 12 reverb.</p>

I promised to keep it and love it and play it. </p><p>Ok - faulty power supply, with dried-out caps and one lifted off the board. Cracked solder joints around the transistors. Fixed and rebuilt with a bit of thermal paste for good measure.</p>
rogerb<p>Replaced the battery to keep the patches on the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/juno106" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>juno106</span></a>. Turned out to be easier than anticipated, some kind soul had already replaced the normal soldered on the board battery with a holder. So only needed to replace the battery.</p>
