I’ve still been without a job since layoffs in June. If anyone can refer me to something with my background/skills, please do so. My resume and portfolio are at: davidatchley.me (still use my deadname for work purposes)I have 30 years of experience in the IT and software industry, I’ve been a developer, designer, product manager, and have also been a Director of entire departments of contributors, managing 15 or so people. #jobseeking, #hiring, #nowhiring, #careerchange

Just watches this ACRL webinar Getting Hired - A Practical Guide to the Academic Librarian Job Search. Although the recruitment practice is different from country to country, some tips the speakers shared are applicable for any early-career librarians. I learned a lot myself. #librarians #jobseeking #libraryjobs

[in the US – and beyond? – recruiting, especially technical recruiting, is very badly broken and ineffectual, with hiring managers not getting to see the most viable and valuable candidates]

Okay, so! I'm job hunting. I have

* worked with Python for over 15 years, combined with C for around 10;
* maintained & upgraded a proprietary search engine for over a decade;
* redesigned & overhauled legacy core code that was eating dev & support time;
* mentored junior devs.

I'm ideally looking for

* fully remote (I'm in the UK)
* part time (2-4 days a week) or short full time contract
* room to grow

Boosts very appreciated; CV: kathymurdoch.nevira.net/static

I've made a silly little site to try and sell myself as a web dev (well to steer traffic towards that rather than my artistic site, and to have something to put on my email signature).

It's super basic, static, all a single html file, but it was nice to try and ensure a good Lighthouse rating.

I still have to go through the IBM audit which flagged a few things, but this is a good start.

You can find it at: lharby.github.io/

sigh not sure what sort of traction this will get on here (any retoots greatly appreciated).

Friends, colleagues, recruiters, it is time for me to begin a search for a new role.

I am a Frontend developer with a wealth of experience. Here is a nice digestible summary

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 I am people driven, I like cross-communication, working in teams, problem solving and enjoy being client facing.
👁️ I am passionate about web accessibility.
💾 I am very keen on regularly updated documentation.
🤖 I like clean, modular, reusable and light JavaScript implementations.
🖍️ I prefer commented code.

I am happy with Contract or Permanent roles. Prefer Agency work. Remote. UK based.

📞 Let's talk

(I am not super keen on TypeScript or React, but paradoxically I do quite like Next.js).
