Auf einem schwarzen Plattenspieler läuft eine schwarze Schallplatte. Davor halte ich das Cover ins Bild. Foto, eine Bigband auf einer Bühne. Vorne steht Manfred Krug, Jeans, reingestecktes Hemd, viel zu kurze Krawatte, dafür aber mächtig dicke Koteletten und ordentlich Schnörres. Er singt gerade leidenschaftlich und hält das Mikrofon wie eine Trompete vor den Mund. Der Titel der Platte ist in 3D Schrift. Links steht noch Musik: Günther Fischer.

This morning's #workout #music is some old-school #Funk from Nik West. Her mix of #FunkRock and #JazzFunk has clear roots in #ParliamentFunkadelic. The set takes place in front of the most incongruous audience ever. It's either a high art satire/comedy, the entertainment for a time-share retreat, or a spot-on metaphor for the modern Democratic Party. Strange.

The audience stands and raises their hands in excitement when they recognize the Beatles cover this urban group is playing.

A bedazzled funk band plays in front of an audience of older folks sitting on folding chairs, wearing headphones, smiling politely, and occasionally nodding their heads.

bassist Nik West in red and leopard skin suit with a pyramid of curls wrapped in sequins sing in front of 2 60 year old white men wearing headphones and Henleys that look like they are waiting for the “entertainment” to end so they can hit the bar.
