I think it's within their ToS.</p><p>Or, better, make one's own instance.</p>

I know that I had a plugin on my <a href="https://mastodon.timnolte.com/tags/WordPress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WordPress</span></a> site that would get an issued serial number from somewhere that was unique for every blog post. This was back in the hay days of <a href="https://mastodon.timnolte.com/tags/Technorati" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Technorati</span></a> as well.</p>
