Eva the sewing historianAn old fashion style of poet's narcissus. My stepfather got the bulbs from the garden of a now disappeared old cottage, and now grow them in his garden<br> Strong, sweet scent.<br> On my sewing room altar, because I can close the door so the cats won't get to them.<br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/heirloomplants?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#heirloomplants</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/narcissus?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#narcissus</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/paganaltar?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#paganaltar</a>

Pollinators<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.green/@Broadfork" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Broadfork</span></a></span>. Good afternoon Broadfork. The Seed Savers Exchange of Decorah, Iowa is local vegetable seeds as far as local goes. We are members. The seed catalog is lovely. The pepper and tomato varieties are hard to equal. The varieties rotate in and out. The Seed Savers Exchange also has a historical Apple tree orchard. Some years they have sold historic apple tree varieties. <a href="https://epicure.social/tags/gardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gardening</span></a>, <a href="https://epicure.social/tags/seedsaving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>seedsaving</span></a>, <a href="https://epicure.social/tags/heirloomplants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>heirloomplants</span></a>, <a href="https://epicure.social/tags/growyourown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>growyourown</span></a>, <a href="https://epicure.social/tags/minnesota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>minnesota</span></a>.</p>

DoomsdaysCW<p>Organized the "seed vault" today. Threw out anything that had gotten moldy or was too old. I have some treasured heirloom seeds tucked away in sealed containers just in case (beans, corn, sunflowers, etc.). Hopefully this year, my black <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/walnut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>walnut</span></a> tree will start producing walnuts. The "mother tree" was one fully acclimated to <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Maine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Maine</span></a>. I've manage to keep alive a few <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/HeirloomPlants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HeirloomPlants</span></a> -- including strongly scented <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/lilacs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lilacs</span></a>, that I've rooted and planted in other locations. I've always idolized <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/FreemanLowell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FreemanLowell</span></a> from <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/SilentRunning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SilentRunning</span></a> -- trying to keep my little corner of the universe green and full of food for the local wildlife.</p>
Melissa Dimock / refashionista<p>I'm trying to recall the name of an old-fashioned "farm garden" flower that grows similarly to delphinuim/hollyhock/larkspur (tall stalks), but has a "word" for a name and not the usual flowery name.</p><p>It's a rather plain flower in comparison, but a deep indigo w/ white.</p><p>HELP!</p><p><a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/Gardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gardening</span></a> <a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/flowers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>flowers</span></a> <a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/gardener" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gardener</span></a> <a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/heirloomplants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>heirloomplants</span></a> <a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/whatisit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>whatisit</span></a> <a href="https://oceanplayground.social/tags/Canada" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Canada</span></a></p>
