Engineers of , I need your help.

I'm building this desk with hidden monitors; basically a box that can open. The box opens with hinges and hydraulic gas springs (see pic). The box will then be placed on an electric desk frame.

My question: will it be a problem to have the legs in the middle of the frame (see white frame pic)? Will it be sturdier if the legs are towards the end (see black frame pic), so that the weight of the box when it's open is more on the legs?

1. I have a quest I am working on.

I am trying to load two images into the browser, which stack but which also have a gradient beneath them.

Here is an image of what I want to achieve.

Top layer = portrait image
Middle layer = png mask
Bottom layer = gradient.

The top portrait and middle mask layers will always be the same size.

I started off stacking images but I am drawn to using the least amount of HTML possible.

The effect can be achieved using mix-blend-mode in css.

Please retoot if you would be so kind.

Okay fedi. We were running out of flour and unbeknownst to each other my roommate and I both bought flour and now we have a truly unrealistic amount of flour. What is a good way to use it up? (Doesn't have to be food, even.)

Neither of us bake bread, but I'm willing to try anything simple and easy.

Recipes/instructions welcome.

Vattern erfolgreich auf Mac ungestellt. Erstaunlich problemlos. Was tun? #halp

All I want is a little #GitHub App to send a `repository_dispatch` event to a workflow whenever it gets installed on a repository. Instead, I just keep getting 403 errors saying that "Resource is not accessible by integration". I've got one with `contents: write` and `metadata: read` permissions, and it works when it's on my personal account, but does not work on an org account. #halp

I spilled coffee on my laptop at a coffee shop (not a whole lot). I turned it upside down, turned it off, wiped it down with napkins, and it's just been drying upside down for about 30 minutes. But I have a deadline today ... The surface is dry, and when I tap the keys they don't feel or sound sticky. When is it safe to turn it on and see if it works?

Can anyone help me how can I turn off the heating on my Windows 11 machine? Thanks.

The only other explanation I can think of is having a Bitcoin miner installed called System Idle Process.

I don't know when was the last time I heard the fan was stopped, not in the past few days. (Yes, I tried to turn it off and on again.)

OK, looking for advice. Any recommendations for an #eBook reader that works well with #Linux? Or a reader that comes with #overdrive or #Libby pre-installed? I really don't want a Kindle. I tried a Koba Libra Color because I thought it had Overdrive, but it doesn't in my location. 😭 I mostly want it for reading library books, but even workarounds like #WINE were giving me issues, and it was more trouble than it was worth. #halp #ebookreader
