Someone there who uses #guitarix know any preset to make my guitar sound more postpunky? I don't find a preset and I dont get how to make one that sounds as I want, I'm pretty new with the program.

@lislegaard

I use #Ardour for producing all my tracks, #Carla for testing and experimenting with plugins, #SurgeXT & #NoiseMaker as synths, various stuff by brummer10 (#guitarix, ratatouille, ...) and #NAM and #Aida for guitars, #LSP plugins for IRs and samplers etc. #x42plugins for EQ and MIDI processing, #Cardinal for sound design & a lot more #FLOSS tools and plugins.

Expanding the scope of the question, I use #FAUST and #DPF for writing my own plugins and use them in a lot of my tracks.

@ai6yr Hydrogen rules! It takes midi-in as well and you can make your own samples.

Other mature #Linux #musicproduction projects:

#Ardour is a complete DAW. Interface is a B- tops, but it has all the power.

#Guitarix is an effects/"amp-sim" package. Fun for practicing, or making a toy keyboard roar

#Mixxx is live DJ software, busy gui but works great

#PureData is a do-anything toolkit. At its most basic, it can turn ANY number change into a midi message...

I decided to just manually redial some of my songs' guitar tones & effects in with the plugins that come with Ubuntu Studio since I've been experimenting with Ardour.

So far I've got Love Letter to the Night sounding pretty close and a few other new songs I've been working on.

I'm basically just finding equivalent plugins and copying any settings I can into the other plugins. I use common amp models like AC30.
