Gospel Quartette Outlaws der 1940?
Eine der unterschätztesten Musikrichtungen ist der Gospel, der Gospel Quartette auf der sog. "Gospel Road". Man kann, denke ich, sagen, das waren "Boy Groups" mit enorm aufgeladener, sexueller Show. Wenn man sich z.B. die live Aufnahmen der Soul Strirres mit dem sehr jungen Sam Cooke anhört und die Mädels im Publikum schreien hört, besteht über den sexuellen Aspekt kein Zweifel. Christliche Musik war seit jeher ein Vehikel für sehr unanständige Inhalte oder als Ausdruck von Rebellion oder Freiheitskampf. besonders eindrucksvoll war das bei der Schwarzen Bevölkerung der USA ausgeprägt.

Soul Strirres sind deshalb besonders interessant, da sie zum einen den damals unbekannten Sam Cooke als Lead hatten und zum anderen, da sie direkt den Übergang von Gospel zu Soul markieren.

So direkt dass ein und dasselbe Lied, einmal als Christliche Hymne "Wonderful" und einmal als Schlafzimmer singsang "Lovable" aufgenaommen wurden - beide großartig!

Do you want to appear and sound more spiritual? You will need to learn some Christianese and practice the following:

When you pray, don't forget to use praises like "I just pray that..." Adding and repeating "just" is a sure sign of humility, and it increases the chances of your prayers being answered. There should be an amendment to add the repetition of "just" in the Lord's prayer.

When you preach, say "you and I" even when used incorrectly most of the time.

Constantly say "repent of your sin(s)" although this phrase is not found at all or rarely used in any reputable Bible translations.

Eat Chick-fil-a and pretend it is somehow miraculously much better than other fast food. It is a spiritually approved food, except on Sundays; Chick-fil-a is closed. But you can buy it on Saturday and store it for consumption on Sunday, like the Manna in the OT. But unlike the Manna in the OT, Chick-fil-a can remain unspoiled for months, even if you hoard extra on any given day.

Extra Tip:
Drive a mini van.
