lymenzies<p>I'm jumping off of plan9 for a few days and installing <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/FreeBSD" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FreeBSD</span></a> 14</p><p>It's so nice that SSDs are cheap enough to buy a few and swap out when you want to try a new OS.</p><p>Though I think this <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/goldenfir" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>goldenfir</span></a> drive that I had problems with before might actually be toast.</p>

lymenzies<p>After an fstrim that ran 16 hours I was able to recover the important files from the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/goldenfir" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>goldenfir</span></a> ssd that failed earlier this year.</p>
lymenzies<p>So happy to have the i7 desktop back in the running. I took the drive from the Dell laptop that I had removed during the upgrade the other day. So it just booted straight into Ubuntu, no problem.</p><p>I'm curious if I can read anything off the <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/goldenfir" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>goldenfir</span></a> SSD that was in the i7 before it crashed.</p>
