I like #Gnome, but sometimes I find it a bit unintuitive. I wanted to change my profile picture and had to go to Settings -> System -> Users -> Profile Picture. I have no idea about design stuff. Maybe that makes a lot of sense to hide the setting there.
But in the end you won't please anyone. That's why this post is not meant in a bad way.

I wonder if you have thought of using #LibreOfficeKit as backend? A simple GTK4-based word processor on top of libreofficekit as backend would be great. A simple app that can display any #LibreOffice document with basic text-editing features. Together with a minimal clutter-free UI would be great. I'd use it everyday.

Tried out Highscore (formerly GNOME Games) on my OnePlus 6T via the Flatpak developer builds under GNOME Mobile — and wow, it runs beautifully on a touch-based mobile form factor! 
Without a physical gamepad, it shows a virtual one on screen. But as soon as I connect my 8BitDo Micro controller, it switches seamlessly — virtual gamepad disappears and I'm playing with real controls. Just works™.

The enhanced image thumbnails in files app, along with the image viewer is worth its weight in gold, all by itself. Images render almost instantly. Then, double click on a thumbnail and the viewer opens just as fast.
