Scholars Portal<p>This year, we’ve put together a feature about the 1:63k series! If you’re curious about where you might have found lighthouses, cheese factories, orchards, &amp; sleigh roads back in the 1920s and 30s, take a minute to explore: <a href="https://bit.ly/3YXjGIn" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">bit.ly/3YXjGIn</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Spot the cheese factory on the map below!</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay2024</span></a></p>
Scholars Portal<p>Last year we shared an animation created by one of our GIS Developers, Anugra Shah, showing changes to the Port Lands of Toronto over time using the 1:50k topographic maps series. If you missed the animation last year, check it out below!</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay2024</span></a></p>
Scholars Portal<p>The 1:63k index series was produced between 1906-1953 &amp; includes nearly 500 individual map sheets for Ontario. These maps provide detailed geographic information about Ontario, often showing infrastructural developments &amp; environmental changes over time.</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GISDay2024" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GISDay2024</span></a></p>
