Thrash CardiomFor those who are interested: This is going well but it is a far longer process than I have done before. Usually I would resize all the disks and install the operating system and then restore the vital data from a backup drive.This time I have elected to restore everything from my cloud based encrypted backup. This is 300+ GB in size. It's proving to be a long slow process which is annoying but also a really good test of my backup/restore process. I expected it to be faster. I have restored multi-GB sized chunks of data using this backup solution with no speed issues. This, however, is crawling. Thrash CardiomWhen I last set up my laptop a couple of years ago I didn't give enough space to the root partition. As a consequence I am running into difficulties when working with databases > 5gb in size. As a result I will be blowing it away completely and doing a full disk reconfiguration and re-install.
