Get #FreeSoftware and advertize doing so.
with Linux, there is a strong community out here to help you make the first steps.
Distros have made huge progress since I started to use Linux and your install is flawless.
I use Linux Mint which is great from all perspectives.
distrowatch.com/ can help you find what you really need. I keeps track of distros. Are they still being maintained ? Communit ? Features? You can find it here

I noticed you have a Matomo setup, probably to understand which songs visitors like. I think you should have a Like button which I can press if I like a song. Or maybe a 5 star rating system. Matomo has such a event tracking feature, so this should be easy to implement. This way you get direct feedback, without relying on just visit time.

I think I saw Adobe and Microsoft on the list too. Some of the biggest makers of #proprietary software are now gradually reaching their hands to help #freesw projects. That must mean something is changing. I wish the change continues (but without destroying the communities behind it).

@suguru Yeah. #freesw may have some features less and may require a bit of learning (sometimes it is the opposite and better than nonfree software) but at the end it gives back the user one thing: freedom.

When I first heard about Linux it was around 2003-05. KDE/GNOME and everything had no standards/inconsistent and many things CLI based. Wasn't sure why people used it. But now I get it. For them it is better to learn something hard and be free than enjoy ease of use in a walled garden.

@suguru Totally agree. The value of #freesw is understood only when someone uses it. It doesn't spy, it doesn't do anything that the user doesn't want, computer listens to the users again. Just the perfect kind of software. Even some years ago people didn't know such kind of software exists.

But now, with some prominent Linux channels and internet communities, Free Software is slowly getting popular. I've seen many famous content creators use/mention GIMP, Blender, Krita, KVM in their videos.

For search engines I can also recommend trying out Metager.org. They're a meta search engine, so it's kind of similar to searx but provides a consistent search experience. They're nonprofit, so no tracking no ads. Also has an onion site for privacy: metager.org/tor
