[73714.072490] i2c_designware AMDI0010:03: controller timed out
前幾天更新 (`pacman -Syu`) 後會讓這則系統錯誤訊息發生,同時觸控板就變成不能用了。
重開機可以解。
好像不是定時發生,而是有什麼特定手勢會讓這個狀況發生。

@DJGummikuh@pixelfed.de interesting discovery: One of the Screws attaching the mainboard to the chassis appears to be missing, Position 3/6 @frameworkcomputer
I am very certain I did not loose it, as this is the first time ever I'm digging this deep into my #Framework16, could this be cause for anything?
ok so today I will replace the liquid metal cooling of my #framework16 with a PTM7958 Thermal Pad cooling. The bad thing: the guide on how to do this has THIRTHY-NINE STEPS to install the thing on the photo
The good thing: There IS a guide and only a single tool required to perform it. Still love the concept, even though I have performance issues (which hopefully should be partially solved with this *free* upgrade)
@craige @AlexanderMars @ErickaSimone @GrapheneOS I concur. I've had good experiences with #GrapheneOS on Pixel devices for five years and just moved from a #System76 #OryxPro running Pop!_OS to a #FrameWork16 running #NixOS.
Though have had trouble with coverting the System76 laptop to NixOS due to fan drivers always running the fan at 100%, which is unacceptable for a server.
A year in review with my #framework16 Laptop:
(If people are interested, I can make a more fleshed out and in-depth review; maybe make a video one)
Are Here #framework users which can recommend dockingstations which allow you to start a #framework16 laptop by pushing a button on the dockingstation? #frameworklaptop
Or can @frameworkcomputer directly recommend one?
I was trying to get a new computer before the tariffs hecked in, but I ended up sending back my #Framework16 because of a defective touchpad. The irony of modular parts is they fight replacing defective ones.
I was extremely disappointed that even after several different attempts and experiments to get it working, I just couldn’t get Blender to use my AMD GPU on my #framework16 in Ubuntu.
It was an absolutely miserable experience. That and the fact that in Ubuntu even going through configuration command line stuff I could not get the touchpad to not scroll wildly when using two-finger gestures.
Ubuntu just is not ready to be a Windows replacement yet for anyone who doesn’t have a Computer Science degree. I still hope it will be better and more successful in the near future - very much like how things worked with Blender itself. (In the mid-2000s I swore to myself I’d never ever use Blender again.)
After spending a week with the #Framework16 I don't think I'm cut out for this level of futzing and hardware debugging. It's been fun playing some games, but it will be going back if I can't get passed the touchpad and keyboard issues.
Touchpad on the #Framework16 is rough. It's zooming and right-clicking a when I'm trying to scroll. Really hobbling and otherwise amazing machine.
@annaaurora @iFixit Huh. I haven't even noticed the fans on the #Framework16. How long ago did you compare the #Framework13 with your #thinkpad?
It's a fair point @annaaurora
For me though, having the flexibility of moving ports around outweighs the limitation of six ports (on #Framework16). I tend to use a docking station when the laptop is on my desk, so port count is even less of an issue there.
I run Arch, btw.
Of course, you can't tell, it's just a KDE Plasma 6 desktop set up the way I like.
So far the only thing that's given me trouble has been Steam (resolved by using the Flatpak version), although I still don't have everything set up and configured, and I haven't tried a whole bunch of stuff yet. I'll probably write a blog post.
Hey, nice, installer failed to install something after repartitioning, that's fun. Maybe it didn't like my custom partition scheme?
Ok, going to wipe my laptop and give Bazzite a go. #yolo
I can always do this again with something else if it doesn't work for me.
@fedistu @frameworkcomputer I've got a #Framework16 running #NixOS. One nice thing is the expansion ports. At home I use an audio jack for sound, and USB for a headset, but when I go into the office and have to use a conference room, I bring the HDMI port, which I normally don't use.
When I'm not using an external ergonomic keyboard, and use the laptop keyboard, I like having the number pad and that I can move the trackpad off-center to match the center of the keyboard.
Anyone else with a #framework16 laptop find WiFi broken with the 6.13 Linux kernel? I've come across an article or 2 that says there's supposedly a bunch of networking changes in 6.13, but can't find anything related to the issue I'm having
Kind of glad #framework didn't announce a refresh of the #framework16, my wallet can't take it.
My wife doesn't need an upgrade on her 13 just yet either. So my money is safe for now
