#Trump 'clearly angry' at #Amazon for move to display #tariff cost next to products.

Why is Trump angry ?
...
Trump repeated over and over that the Tariff are paid by #Foreign #States
NOT by #American consumers !
and #MAGAs KNOW that if Trump say so ... it is true !

Trump should be VERY happy that the Americans (the MAGAs especially) can realize
how much HIS Tariff make them 'save'

Or maybe Trump lied ?
Could it be ?
Could it be that Trump lied ?
🤣🤣🤣

Day 29 👴🏻🧓

#PeterDutton has again refused to say exactly how the #Coalition would make its promised cuts to #migration, declining to say which #SkilledWorker groups would be reduced or whether his target is even achievable given previous carveouts for working holidaymakers and families.

The opposition leader did say cuts to #foreign worker numbers could be dealt with in part by allowing #pensioners to work more hours without reducing their #pensions.”

Retire, then work ‘em till they drop.

@Brian_Mahoney

What the heck are you talking about?

Voting federally in Canada is a very simple process, and doesn't take much time. You cast one vote for one office. Of course it's done by hand. It's trivial to count the votes afterwards. Even the biggest polling stations can count their votes in an hour or two.

Other than the line to get to where you get your ballot, it generally only takes a couple of minutes to vote. Yes, it'll be longer if you're not registered to vote, as they have to verify you, but otherwise it's quick.

It has been this way as long as I've been voting, which is more than 3 decades.

This post stinks of disinformation, trying to dissuade people from voting. Why? Who are you? Who are you working for?

In recent weeks & days, the #Trump admin began a review of $9B in federal contracts & grants to #Harvard; called for restrictions including a #MaskBan & *#DEI* removal; threatened to strip Harvard of its #TaxExempt status; & demanded info on some #visa holders at Harvard w/ a threat to take away its ability to enroll #foreign #students.
Harvard on Monday rejected numerous demands that it said would cede control to the govt. The Trump admin subsequently said it was freezing $2.3B in funding.

#TrumpRegime #border #Foreign Visitors

"President Trump has been in office for less than three months but has already managed to alienate all of America’s closest allies. Sometimes that alienation has come in the form of threats to invade sovereign territory, like in Canada, Greenland, and Panama. Other times, it’s more of a blanket 'fuck you' to America’s geopolitical allies with threats of tariffs. And at the border, horror stories emerge daily of people trying to enter the U.S. and being abused in ways they hadn’t been before Trump took power again in January.

All of that turmoil and uncertainty has forced people who previously would’ve welcomed a trip to the U.S. into rethinking their plans. Many researchers in Australia have decided it’s no longer smart to travel to the U.S., given the rise of fascism that could endanger their own health and well-being. The Society for Social Studies of Science decided to turn its own conference into a hybrid in-person and remote event, according to the Guardian, given the threat Trump poses to personal liberty. People are being monitored for their disabilities at the U.S. border, according to the Guardian, and border agents are checking medications, ostensibly to see if they match a given disability.

The way that Trump and Elon Musk are currently destroying the U.S. government is also playing into the calculations foreign researchers are making about their interactions with Americans. Countless research grants have been canceled, making a trip to the U.S. unnecessary even for people who may be willing to risk traveling to the country. Even researchers with strong ties to the U.S. are opting to look to other countries for jobs, as Reuters reports, because work is simply drying up."

Gizmodo · Visitors to U.S. Take Extreme Precautions as Trump Continues March of FascismThe U.S. is not a safe place to visit (or live) right now.

I recently stumbled upon a #YouTube #Video where people are blaming/mocking themselves for not speaking perfectly #English. I don't understand that kind of #Behavior. #Why? Seriously, why? For me, it's most important that I can call an #Ambulance, report a #Fire or a #Crime in a #Foreign #Language. To be capable of socially acceptable #SmallTalk is of course also a nice #Ability to have. But dealing with an actual #Emergency is IMHO more #Important than asking a #Stranger how they feel today…
