Intrusiveness of flowers.
G.
“Intrusiveness of flowers is brooked even by troubled hearts.
They enter and then knock—then chide their ruthless sweetness, and then remain forgiven.
May these molest as fondly!”
(L540) - Emily Dickinson.

Flowers shout like a visual assault, based on the phrase above.

Wow, what a start! The altitude, the heavy loaded bikes and the cold at night challenge us. But the sight of the bright yellow aspens is worth every effort. The moose are also on the move here in Colorado and so we often find ourselves completely surprised in front of one.

Good morning. 🍂🍃🐶

I’ve been staring at muddy water spots on the bottom of my office door for days now. I really should grab something to wipe them off. A detective conducting a splash analysis would probably conclude that one of my dogs came in from outside, wandered over to my office, and did that signature shaky, splashy thing that wet dogs do. The spots are pretty low on the door, so my money’s on Ben. That’s a solid guess, considering Ben usually makes his presence known by shaking and producing the unmistakable flapping sound of his long ears. Oh well, living with dogs requires patience and the occasional cleanup on aisle seven. Speaking of dogs, Charlie just strolled in to remind me that mealtime is right around the corner.

Poplar Robusta is a hybrid between the Lombardy Poplar and the Eastern Cottonwood of America.
It has large red male catkins in March followed by orangey-red juvenile leaves in April. These appear golden when the sun shines through them, as in the photo.
They soon turn green, effectively masking the maisonette block behind my house until autumn comes round again.
The black blob in the centre of the picture is a wood pigeon.

Ben is barking—it’s almost mealtime. Meanwhile, Charlie is staring at me with his tail wagging enthusiastically. I could feed them early, but rules are rules. I’ve only been awake for about 20 minutes, and as usual, I’m trying to put my thoughts into writing. After only 20 minutes of being awake, my mind feels pretty empty. Lately, I’ve been considering buying a second EGO 5Ah battery. There’s the BA2800 and the BA2800T—the latter costs about $100 more than the former. Essentially, the choice boils down to spending $200 or $300, but there must be more to it than just the price. It’s intriguing how much these batteries cost…
