Just landed my #XPlane #flightsim virtual #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet at KOSH (IFR RNAV approach to RWY 18) to bring some virtual #EAA staffers back from a make-believe conference in Wilmington, DE.

Ground told me to park on Boeing Plaza but a Cathay Pacific four-seven was taking up all the space. Get a load of that cool livery! Taxied thru the back streets to park in front of the tower instead.

A quick #funfact about flying the #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet in my #Xplane #flightsim

A few weeks ago, on final to Lake Tahoe, the plane froze up and I dumped it into the lake. On the panel are only switches for pitot and windshield heat, both were on.

Just this past week I learned there is a way to build a keyboard shortcut to turn ALL ice protection on, which turns on the X-plane version of a TKS weeping wing.

Went up into -30C +precip WX, and it stayed flying.

Problem solved.

*sales person voice* If anyone lives in the Greater Seattle area and wants to get into flight simulator pits boy do I have a deal for you #seattle #DCS #buy #flightsim

We’re moving internationally and my wife who is an avid DCS F-18 pilot is selling her rig. Individually she paid about $4k for all the pieces. She was also laid off last week so we could really use the money

We just need it gone so there’s a hefty discount if you can pick it up yourself.

#retro #flightsim #msfs 35 years ago, there existed a separate navigation software for MSFS 4, sold for 70 Deutsche Mark (~35 Euro). A german magazine even had a monthly "flight simulator corner" where readers shared VOR frequencies and coordinates, supplementing the sparse documentation for the German scenery disk. It's interesting to see how this program is even more a staple of PC computing than Office.

Somebody's losing their JOB:

Just arrived thru some nasty TS into KEUG from Rapid City, SD (KRAP, no jokes, been there done that) in my #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet.

Parked in my usual spot in front of the old terminal, called for fuel, and the driver was apparently suffering "first day on the job" woes.

Drove the fuel truck right thru my left wing. Ever heard of a BRAKE PEDAL?

Called his boss and got: "No worries, that'll buff right out."

One of the "perks" of being a Captain for Dano Airlines in #XPlane #flightsim is that the suits let you drink beer on the flight deck. Pretty cool, eh?

Oh, did I mention all they allow is non-alcoholic beer? No worries, I always have a stock of Athletic Brewing Co.'s fine N/A IPAs.

Enjoying a cool one headed to Rapid City, SD tonight from Int'l Falls MN. Why?

#WhyNot?

(apologies for the crappy iPhone 8 pic)
