We have all tried to snatch a fruit fly out of the air in front of us, only to fail and see it slowly flying away nearby. This is because small flies like this have warp drive and can very briefly move at #warp 6 when threatened. You should persist though, because their dilithium crystals are tiny and you will quickly deplete them. These flies do not have shields; see also #fleas.

Typhus comes from bacteria transmitted by lice, chigger, or flea bites. Perhaps the "removal of putrefying matter by good drainage" reduced host vermin.

Dog owners - could you share your favorite flea treatment? Our two doggos are getting attacked by the little jerks and our Frontline is helping, but definitely not solving the problem. I'd say it's eased their itching about 30-40%, but can't we do better? They're still dealing with hot spots.
