Okay, friends - as a relative newbie to #flatpak I was turned on to the magic that is #Flatseal, which is a utility that allows you to manage the sandbox environment for applications that you've installed via Flatpak. In my case, it was to allow #kiwix to save data to an external HDD. I didn't know about this tool, so that's why I'm telling you - just in case you didn't know about it either.
If you're running Flatpak, I would highly encourage you to also install Flatseal to make configuring those apps for your particular system setup a breeze!
Another #3dprinting question - if I have a #BambuLab #3Dprinter, is using the #BambuStudio app the way to go for printing, or is there an alternative, better app I could use?
BambuStudio is nice in the sense that not only is it on #Linux, but it's also avai as a #Flatpak which makes installing it easy, but idk... I've only started printing stuffs yest but so far, doesn't seem like that app is as intuitive as I'd want it to be. Things seem a lil messy and not quite what I imagined or like (I think) I've seen used by others on YT videos where you could see a preview of the model you're printing in 3D where you could adjust its angle and wtnot before sending it to print.
Any suggestions/pointers?

Update: OH, maybe I am supposed to be getting a 3D preview of what I'm printing, I just don't (on BambuStudio) cos it's an issue on Linux perhaps specifically for #NVIDIA GPU users. https://www.reddit.com/r/OrcaSlicer/comments/16xw6qg/the_linux_missing_preview_issue
https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/issues/4669
---
Update 2: Workaround to the missing preview issue. Include each of the following env variables to the app, using #Flatseal if you're using the Flatpak:
__EGL_VENDOR_LIBRARY_FILENAMES=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/GL/default/share/glvnd/egl_vendor.d/50_mesa.json
WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1
WEBKIT_FORCE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1
WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1
Oh, just realised it's not only happening in #Firefox but #Thunderbird too. Nothing's changed as far as I can tell with my fontconfig or #Flatpak permissions via #Flatseal. Don't think the font settings on Firefox/Thunderbird themselves have changed either. If I've to guess, maybe they updated #GTK versions or something which does often break stuff on #KDE (on how they look).

@alextecplayz @cassidy
- In my usage #DejaVuBackup & #PikaBackups both work very well. #Celeste too for syncing files with #Nextcloud
- Everything #AppManager does is possible w/ #Flatseal, #GnomeSoftware, & opening #flatpak manifests or specific to #Android activities, which are loosely analogous to #DBus services, which #DSpy works well for.
- Never used #Gemini, but #Alpaca works super well with communicating w/ #LLMs via #Ollama. Would make for an awesome #GNOME #SearchProvider

@thelinuxexperiment It sounds like #Flatpaks and using #Flatseal is the safest setup. Then repos. The verified explanation you gave was new to me.
On the nice @fedora Cinnamon spin:
The default system monitor is a libadwaita app from Gnome. It looks out of place.
Installed #flatpak, #flathub, & the Mission Center system monitor... it's also libadwaita.
Installed #Flatseal to give flatpaks access to themes. Flatseal is less a GUI tool & more a collection of forms to type into.
But, flatpaks don't know about /usr/share/themes, no matter what?
Installed Mate's system monitor, manually edited Cinnamon's menu, deleted the flatkpak stuff.
Fucking Flatpaks… even with Flatseal, I can't get Telegram to accept drag-and-drop files. Any help?
There was a post in the last few days, I forget by who, that owning a #steamdeck skewed more purchases to that platform.
Yeah, me too.
I just installed #Heroic (easy), #Flatseal (easy) and have linked my #Epic, #GOG and #Amazon accounts.
So now I have easy access to an additional 1,541 games to add to the 8,743 on #steam.
I have a #raspberrypi4 on which the micro SD has a truly ridiculous number of arcade games. I don’t think I'll add them. #paradoxofchoice is a thing.
