In July 2015, the first version of #EndlessSky was released. Ten years later is the perfect time to pick it up for those who haven't already!

I like the new trading system in Endless Sky
and "piracy" against pirates.(which makes them mad)
Well i am about to go live with more #EndlessSky on https://twitch.tv/mir_ppc
Yey for Free Opensource games made by a dedicated community!
I am getting ready to spool up a steam of #EndlessSky over on https://twitch.tv/mir_ppc . It should be a short stream playing a pretty fun open source Escape Velocity clone. Just dont ask me how many hours i have played it.
So apparently there was a multiplayer fork of #EndlessSky , but sadly even after fixing the compilation errors it doesn't work correctly. Link for it in case someone else wants to try: https://github.com/Zabot/endless-sky/tree/MultiplayerProto
Who plays Endless Sky?
#endlesssky
@zep I've been loving #EndlessSky on both #GNULinux and #LineageOS.
Feels like a modern, better, top-down-view _Elite_, with good story lines and much more room for future development.
Entirely #FreeSoftware, of course.
Incidentally, if anyone playing Starfield has an urge to play another game where you jump from starsystem to starsystem, buying low and selling high, taking quests, buying new ships, upgrading your old one, or just straight going pirating other people's ships, but in 2d, don't forget Endless Sky is out there, free, and open source... (And, you know, your cargo space is the total of *all* the ships in your fleet. :P )

You can download it for free on Steam, too, if you like getting your games through Steam.
(Endless Sky is also basically a spiritual successor to Escape Velocity: Nova. I actually feel like people looking at modding Starfield could do worse then looking here for inspiration...)
Found out about #EndlessSky on here last night and I'm interested so far.
I haven't played a game in years, but was happy to discover #EndlessSky on @solene's blog post covering #libregames, a pretty high-end space miner that is available on #guix

Endless Sky (space trading & combat simulator) has a new unstable release v0.10.0 https://github.com/endless-sky/endless-sky/releases/tag/v0.10.0 #EndlessSky #freegaming #spacesim
This game is a lot of fun and pretty obviously aimed square at my generation. I can't believe its 100% free. I may have to find a way to toss the developer a few bucks.
Started playing Endless Sky. I have to wonder; are these self sealing stem bolts?
My hold is only 20 tons currently, so I guess I'll never know.
@linuxphoneapps Not a gamer, but I started playing #EndlessSky last year. I'm sure most modern gamers would think it's dated and ugly. Open source and modeled on some 80s(?) game I never played.
But, man, I love it. Get eslauncher2 and stay up to date as they develop it. Hits my colloquial OCD and my #SciFi
Turn based. Story lines, choices change the game. I love building starships and fleets.

One free software SDL game that comes to mind is #EndlessSky (https://github.com/endless-sky/endless-sky). It's very light on resources, if that's what you mean by "small".
Endless Sky: an open source space trading and combat game https://endless-sky.github.io/ #linux #linuxgaming #endlesssky #foss #space #trading #combat
Been playing #EndlessSky for a while. Surprisingly comfy game, specially with the right playlist of songs to pair with it.
There's also the chance of unexpected time travel! Or more likely, just a oversight.
#EndlessSky turns out to have much more depth than I realized. #freegaming
I'm enjoying just doing the generic jobs in #EndlessSky, but are there story missions? #freegaming
