Déhà – Nethermost & Absolute Comfort (CD)

An intense Déhà record, with the themes of self hatred, despondency, self harm and hopelessness, meant as a testimony from a part of the darkest past of the artist. It starts painfully slow, with low chords of guitar struck one at the time as if the strings hesitate to tremble. The slow build up feels like a long intro, but it is not. It is frustrating and demanding. This is not music for easy listening. A must!

Today, for #Saturdoom I will high light the new record from German #DoomMetal outfit Daevar. Their new record Sub Rosa brings a massive amount of groove to their very good mix of #StonerDoom and #DoomMetal. The female vocals also offsets nicely to the rumbling bass.

Then there's the slightly smaller version, but with the same big content.

I actually thought I ordered the CD when I ordered this from Relapse. I don't think I even knew there was a tape version at the time, and tapes weren't much on my mind. The CD was sold out at that point.
Funny thing is, I managed to do a similar thing with Masonna, buying the 3x7" believing I bought the CD of "Inner Mind Mystique".
