*“Welcome to Scandinavian Pain. This record is not special. It is not rare. It is not expensive. It does not even sound particularly good. It is not valuable in itself.
It only has the meaning you give it. It is as important as you make it.
Music is not magic. It is not sacred. It is not divine. It is just sound.
But it can help you. It can remind you of who you are.
It can be your companion when you are alone.
It can tell you that someone else felt the same as you.
It can give shape to your feelings. It can speak when you cannot.
It can be a weapon. It can be a shield. It can be a torch in the dark.

Welcome to Scandinavian Pain.
Love and Satan,
Katla.”*

CCIT Seminar with @neil_selwyn on Digital Degrowth

"In 2020, Wired magazine declared degrowth to be "the worst idea on the planet". Three years later, Marc Andreessen called out degrowth as a "bad idea" and an "enemy" to technological progress. Taking inspiration from Andrew Ahern’s observation that "degrowth pisses off all the right people", Neil Selwyn considers what degrowth and post-growth thinking might have to offer those looking to radically break away from the destructive modes of digital excess that have come to define the first few decades of the twenty-first century. In short, this talk considers a deceptively simple question - how might degrowth thinking support ambitions of sustainable, scaled-down and equitable ways of living with digital technologies?"

The kind of 🚲+🚈 #intermodality in which one travels in the train with the 🚲 requires a comfortable access to stations and tracks with the bicycles. For this, elevators are needed (and they are a must for #accessibility), but also a comfortable access for the bikes through the stairs. In #Denmark, almost all train stations have these bicycle stairs. Such access ramps allow going up & down with the bike without bearing it.
