So what if the novelty of traveling to a new city, was there a place with meeting people who are really adjacent to your professional network ?

For example what if we had a open source and open science conference running concurrently?

I think this already happens in terms of streams within a conference like #pyconau.

I'm just wondering what would happen if you chain adjacent or completely different conferences together?

I'm really keen on working with others to critically discuss any literature on in-person versus online conferences.

Specifically on the ability to network and build relationships.

I have noticed how many smaller events from the pre-covid days have disappeared or remained online. Maybe we should bring many of them back to strengthen our relationships in cybersecurity and IT in general.

Little reminder that a lightning talk of 3 or 5 mins is not the same as your 20 min talk you did last month.

Don't think of it as cutting down a longer set, think of it as its own thing build it from the ground up around the 1 point you want to make.
