Enola Knezevic
Oh well, looks like Norwegian fathers who only have their children on weekends are no better: "Avoid Sundays, as weekend daddies let their little monsters run screaming through the exhibits." https://wikitravel.org/en/Troms%C3%B8

#childfree #travel

Weary Wulf
[P] Lemmings remind me of how LEGO minifigs work—you can swotch the clothes, the hair, even the facial expression, but the underlying head is always identical. The thing about neurodivergence is that it has a lot of ideas, it also has the acceptance of different ideas. So even if an autistic woman chose to have a kid, they wouldn't seek a mob to "fit in" with and mass bully other autistic women to have babies. They can't. Gotta have same brain to "fit in."

#psychology #neurotypicals #childfree

Weary Wulf
[P] I mean, the situation is so bad that autistic women are being bullied by lemmings to have kids. "Coming at me like they're the Borg." I wish we could stop pretending that lemmings aren't clones. Oh, they can be nice clones, even friendly clones, but at the end of the day they absolutely all have the same brain. They wouldn't act so in unison, otherwise. And yet they do! They're all identical beyond surface-level, cosmetic variables!

#psychology #neurotypicals #childfree

Weary Wulf
[P] Frankly, the tiered thinking of same-brained lemmings that results in "but my fambly," and an unwillingness to go child-free, is turduckening all of our ecosystems with such a rapacious lust that even blue whales will soon be extinct. "My fambly! My godly, influential superiors! My delusional desire to become evil/wealthy!" I really long for a planet sans the same-brained lemmings, sans neurotypical hiverarchians.

#psychology #biodiversity #ecology #childfree

Maggie Maybe
FINALLY! Right to sterilizing treatment is LAW in NH

Last Wednesday, the governor of NH signed into law HB 606, prime sponsored by Rep Ellen Read (dubbed by Republicans as "the AOC of NH"), which guarantees that a doctor cannot withhold advisable sterilizing treatment from a patient simply because they don't agree with their right to be childfree (or because they are “too young" or will "change their mind" etc).

This makes NH the first government in the WORLD to guarantee the protection to childfree people!

Countless people have shared their frustration with being denied needed hysterectomies or other sterilizing treatments, being needlessly subjected to miserable conditions like prolapsed uteruses, cyclical vomiting, or debilitating pain... And the risk of dying from high risk unintended pregnancies while having conditions like autoimmune disorders, genetic disorders, or cancer.

Now, people who are suffering while getting denied treatment can go to NH (the law has been signed and takes effect Sept 13) and have THE RIGHT to have medically advisable sterilization treatments, regardless of age (if over 18), number of children, marital status, or any fertility goals contrary to your statement.

While the law states that the treatment must be for a qualifying medical condition, the definition of a medical definition is quite broad. Not only anything that affects the reproductive organs, but also anything that would make having children not advisable. This may include family medical history of inheritable diseases, genetic conditions, conditions that make pregnancy dangerous like autoimmune disorders or cancer, or mental health conditions that would make someone not a good parent.

And while gender dysphoria itself neither counts as something that affects the reproductive organs nor would make having children not advisable, the doctor cannot discriminate against people with gender dysphoria in providing the treatment.
So if you've been suffering with denials from doctors who care more about your fertility than your well being, take a trip in the fall to NH, the fall colors are beautiful!

#NH #HB606 #Endometriosis #PCOS #childfree #hysterectomy #RepRead #AOCofNH

Georgiana Brummell
*Please only add me if you're over twenty-one.
Since the Bio field has such a short character limit, consider this to be my profile/biography.
I don't write about American politics, race, anticapitalism, world affairs (wars, poverty, oppression, etc.), loneliness, bad self-esteem, or anxiety/depression, and will not add those who do so often. The same is true of those who feel it necessary to use obscenities constantly. I am not a modern programmer or gamer, I do not use Linux, and I don't care what social network you use.*
Hello. You may have seen me on Friendica.world or blob.cat. Both had accessibility issues, so I am now here, but my other accounts are still open (dandylover1 on both). Also, if you wish to add me to MSN/Windows Live Messenger via Escargot, I am dandylover1@escargot.chat.
Georgiana Brummell is not my legal name, but it is what I use. I chose it in honour of Beau Brummell. I live in New Jersey and am forty-one years old. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century English grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, the Italian language, British history, the Regency, opera, and MS-DOS and its current varients. I like coffee, tea, wine, cooking, classic literature, nature and historical documentaries, old BBC radio shows, gardening, hot weather, and playing cards and dice. I love opera, particularly singers from the 1940's and earlier, with Tito Schipa, Beniamino Gigli, Ferruccio Tagliavini, and Mattia Battistini being my favourite singers. I also enjoy English and Viennese operettas. In classical music, I like Baroque through early Romantic. I prefer antique menswear (usually Edwardian) and accessories. I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity, though I do enjoy adult fun. I am happily childfree and am not religious. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity.
I am also single and searching. If you are a single, childfree, intelligent, well-dressed man over sixty, please write to me. I will accept platonic friends twenty-one and older.
This is my journal. For sure, with the way the world is there's going to be plenty of pain in their lives, and I don't even want to overly shield them from any painful truths.

Quite possibly it's arrogance to believe I can provide even a decent life for them amidst the polycrisis, or that by raising them gently and trying to give them good examples they can grow up to be people that will contribute to a brighter future (and there's certainly a risk of me displacing my activist impulses onto them in ways unhealthy for then, me, and the world). Certainly I respect the logic of those who chose to be #childfree, especially in the toxic natalist society we live in.

I guess I believe two things (though I admit they could be wrong and gave respect for those who believe differently):

1. I'm the future, whether 10's, 100's, or 1000's of years from now, there will exist for at least some time a more harmonious and joyful human society, and all kinds of activism between now and then will meaningfully contribute to bringing it about.
2. Even in times of great suffering, the beauty and joy in the world makes life worth it.

Point #1 helps me believe that both my life & my children's lives can have rich purpose, even if that's only a fractional contribution to the seeds of a far-future meditopia (and of course, it should be much more and more immediate than that). Point #2 helps me believe that my children won't regret my choice to have them, even if their lives are blighted by intense depravation.

To be clear, I'm not pro-natalist, and I not posting this to try to refute you. Rather, your message inspired me to question my decisions, and I felt doing so out loud and I response to you might be useful out productive for some people. Apologies if I've overstepped.

Weary Wulf
[P] I sometimes wonder how people can have kids and... It's ignorance coupled with the arrogance of neurotypical hiverarchy, the infinite arrogance. I mean, nature is having a hell of a time creating something that can break down carbon-fluorine bonds and it's in your blood, muscles, and brain—welcome to Planet Teflon, whete life is plastic and it isn't fantastic. I won't bring a kid into this, to get sick as the world dies.

#psychology #humans #evil #neurodivergence #childfree
