Showing off its glossy black plumage, this Fish Crow landed next to my husband and I on a viewing deck as we were taking pictures of other birds in a beach marsh area last June. Apparently, it did not wish to be ignored.

CAW Young Authors Contest!! All Cartersville/Bartow County 10th – 12th graders (public, private, or homeschooled) are invited to enter the Caw Young Authors Contest! The winner will receive publication in the upcoming CAW 2025 anthology, The Crow Speaks, Vol. III, and a FIFTY DOLLAR SCHOLARSHIP! All entries will receive an in-depth critique by a published writer. CAW is looking for short stories (max 6,000 words) or up to two poems. You do not have to be a paid member of CAW to enter the YA Contest – you just have to be in grades 10 – 12 in Cartersville or Bartow County, Georgia.
