#SNCF update:
The president of the state rail network, Jean-Pierre Farandou, says

„The attackers started fires in "conduits carrying multiple (fibre-optic) cables" that relay "safety information for drivers"

„There's a huge number of bundled cables. We have to repair them one-by-one, it's a manual operation requiring hundreds of workers“

Interesting piece about #bundling from #Apprenticeship #EPAO orgs. Couple of obvious ones named, but equally a couple of other very obvious ones not named too. I'd assume that really any standard with 'Chartered' in the title is probably worth a look.

Looking for a new #FTP Client for Windows. Normally I use #Filezilla, but recently discovered that it is #bundling another software during its installation process and it was not clear that I was indeed installing two applications. I don't even know what "web companion" is but I'm not interested on having it on my computer. So it looks like it's time for me to change clients, since I can no longer trust Filezilla to do the right thing.

The thing about #CSS is we never should have been #bundling it in the first place. CSS should be split up into individual files per media so that browsers can prioritize the loading of styles that will actually be applied. Concatenating defeats that web capability.

Please dear god tell me there's someone who's good with #DotNet #DotNetCore who can tell me how to get #bundling/#minification working. I'm on Core v7, #Mac #VisualStudio, and #WebOptimizer (the MS Approved Way) has had an open bug for 6 months that it doesn't work with Core 7 unless you do a full publish each time (not just 'run'). Given this is shit I used to able to do really easily in old-flavour .Net, is there a way to bundle and minify that works on v7 + Mac that isn't utterly perverse?

Should libraries handle themselves?

I'm working in a library for internal use. It will be acting as a utility wrapper for a larger library and will be used in two main use cases and custom projects. This is my first time building a utility library from scratch and was thinking of using Webpack to handle the bundling, tree shaking, and minification, and using for transpiling.

Is this necessary or should this even be done?

Are there laws in #Belgium against #bundling? Or laws entitling people to public transport? I read somewhere that Belgium banned bundling specifically in the context of mobile phone plans & banking. E.g. a phone cannot be bundled with plan & banks cannot force you to subscribe to other banking products in order to get a simple current account. The phone bundling ban is now off I think
