When #encryption is #outlawed only #outlaws will have encryption.

Sounds catchy, like some kind of campaign slogan* but it's true. Outlawing or backdooring encryption won't stop serious criminals. The source code is out there. There are plenty of coders for hire. The illicit market will be out there.

What banning or backdooring will do is more easily detect #wrongthink in normal people.
