Queer Like The Slur<p>In this week's edition of 'you can find someone who knows anything on the fedi', I'm looking for information on Victoria's relatively new Domestic Building Insurance regulations.</p><p>My question is: can you get domestic building insurance for a partial restumping?</p><p>Restumping crew reckons it would be a massive waste of labour to remove all the old stumps (which are mostly in good condition and doing their job) and suggests putting in new stumps only as required.</p><p>He reckons he can do this all above board with a building permit and independent surveyor, but only if the whole job is under 16k worth of work. </p><p>For work over 16k, domestic building insurance is required, under 16k it's not (this part is true, I've read the legislation).</p><p>However the restumping crew reckons domestic building insurance won't cover partial foundation works, it will only cover a whole building new-for-old replacement of stumps.</p><p>So that's the actual question: are they right about this? Richard Ashwell<p>Lost Nature – housing developers fail to deliver their ecological commitments.</p><p>A survey of new <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/HousingDevelopments" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HousingDevelopments</span></a> reveals that developers are installing just half of the ecological features that they should be. </p><p>A Wild Justice report, written by researchers at the University of Sheffield, has revealed that <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/HousingDevelopers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HousingDevelopers</span></a> are not keeping legally-binding promises to help wildlife on housing developments.</p><p>A survey of nearly 6,000 <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/house" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>house</span></a> across 42 developments found that only half of the promises to mitigate harm to <a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/nature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nature</span></a> had been kept.
