10 jaar geleden een klein berkje in de tuin geplant en nu is dit mijn uitzicht als ik omhoog kijk. De blaadjes ritselen zachtjes als er wind staat. Ik hou ervan. Mijn ouders hadden vroeger een berkenboom in hun tuin, daar hield ik ook van, vandaar dat ik er zelf één geplant heb.
Er is er spontaan nog één gegroeid, maar die zaag ik om het jaar af omdat ie te dicht op de schutting staat. Het hout gebruik ik om te knutselen. Hij groeit altijd weer terug.
