The North American NA-40 was a bomber prototype developed for the United States Army Air Force. After the crash of the prototype, the type was cancelled and the Air Force ordered the Douglas A-20 Havoc instead. North American used the NA-40B design to develop the NA-62, which competed for the medium bomber contract and was ordered into production as the B-25. destinationsjourney.com/histor #NorthAmericanNA40 #aircraft #aviation #airplane #aeroplane #bomber #USAAF #Prototype

While I was quietly observing the birds, an unexpected spectacle unfolded overhead—a rare sighting of a USAF B-1 Lancer in flight. The sleek, formidable bomber sliced through the sky with a powerful presence, momentarily stealing my attention away from my feathered friends. This unexpected encounter added a thrilling twist to my bird-watching experience.

First flying on 22 December 1936, the North American B-21 Dragon was a medium bomber designed for the United States Army Air Corps. Although having superior performance to it’s competitor the Douglas B-18 Bolo, it was considerably more expensive. As a result and although a small batch of evaluation aircraft were ordered, only the prototype was built. destinationsjourney.com/histor #Aviation #aeroplane #airplane #aircraft #bomber #NorthAmericanXB21 #USAAC
