Yummm..treated ourselves to some delicious goodies from @gunnsbakery , a historic , local #Kosher bakery that makes the best #challah and #bagels that I’ve tasted!
Growing up in a neighbourhood with lots of Jewish folx, I also grew up with the wonderful food my family would get from Gunn’s, Bernstein’s, and when it was open, Cantor’s.
The rich cultural mosaic of #Winnipeg is one of the nicest , most unique things about it here.

Made bagels for the first time today! And yesterday, really, because it’s a two-day process. Fun in a crafty way and super delicious. The everything topping held on well, no egg wash needed. First trip to Schlock’s bagels on Fell St. The hype is real, this is one of the best bagels in the city! Enjoyed it this beautiful morning in at the Panhandle.

Today, did the boil and bake bagels thing again. Followed a recipe we got in Japan after a workshop, except I switched molasses for the honey they used. While they weren't much to look at, they were chewy and tasty with the bottoms all おこげ (okoge).
