Here in the north, we're heading into the darker, colder half of the year. A time where, for many of us, self care becomes even more important.
I have a daily ritual, where I consciously stop to appreciate something beautiful, or interesting, or wonderful on my morning walks with Fester. It helps lift my mood, grounds me, and teaches me about the natural world around us here.
This practice becomes even more important in the LongColdDark!

Trying om the fake ivy and grapes wreath for tomorrow's Autumn Equinox ritual. The grapes are decorations for candles/candlesticks and are tied to the wreath, which is a vine of fake ivy wound around a ring of wire. All material except the aluminium wire is from charity shops.

I never let a good deal go by.. I was driving home yesterday through an agricultural area and found no-spray Roma tomatoes for .80 cents a lb so I got 50 lbs. They are all basic tomato sauce tonight. 14 quarts canned and one quart in the fridge that wouldn't fit in the canner.
Brought the cold-sensitive plants inside. Harvested some other ones. Temps will be in the 30's tonight. Some of the paprika peppers are just starting to turn red. Looking forward to drying my own this year!
