Aebele Trijsburg<p>It's women's history month, so here's a famous female figure from the Bible that inspired many historical women, like the artist Artemisia Gentileschi. I'm talking about Judith. In the video you can see how I decorate a replica schnelle with the image of this fierce character. <br>.<br>.<br>.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/womenshistorymonth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>womenshistorymonth</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/artemisiagentileschi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>artemisiagentileschi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/history" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>history</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/geschiedenis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>geschiedenis</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/judith" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>judith</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/pottery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pottery</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/womeninhistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>womeninhistory</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/atelierable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>atelierable</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/germanstoneware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>germanstoneware</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/siegburg" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>siegburg</span></a></p>
Aebele TrijsburgA 500 year old puzzle jug (1475-1550) (broken) next to my unfinished reconstruction. The question is: how do you drink from this jug? The cross section shows that there's a tunnel hidden in the handle and the neck of the jug. If you close the hole inside the handle (arrow) you can drink without spilling. The last image shows a complete puzzle jug. Same time, same production place (Raeren). <br> .<br> .<br> .<br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/puzzlejug?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#puzzlejug</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bartmannjug?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bartmannjug</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/archeology?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#archeology</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/history?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#history</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/puntneuskruik?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#puntneuskruik</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fopkan?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#fopkan</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/baardmankruik?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#baardmankruik</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/bellarmine?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#bellarmine</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/atelierable?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#atelierable</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/vexierkrug?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#vexierkrug</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/archeologie?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#archeologie</a>
Aebele Trijsburg<p>I'm working on a medieval stag for hand washing (not yet fired). This device is called an aquamanile. He can be filled with water through the hole in its back and the tiny hole in its nose is the spout. The original (fourth image) is from 1300-1399 and resides in the V&amp;A museum. Parts of the antlers and both hind legs are missing.<br>.<br>.<br>.<br><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/medievalpottery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>medievalpottery</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/aquamanile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>aquamanile</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/medievalhygiene" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>medievalhygiene</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/reenactment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reenactment</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/livinghistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>livinghistory</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/medievalhistory" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>medievalhistory</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/atelierable" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>atelierable</span></a></p>
