Their work is urgent, and needs to be done — even if it’s being done by <a href="https://babka.social/tags/antisemites" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>antisemites</span></a>. We do not have the luxury at the moment of turning away those doing good just because they’re also doing evil. They’ll continue doing evil either way, so preventing them from doing good accomplishes nothing. Indeed, as long as they are occupied doing good, their capacity for doing evil will be diminished.</p><p>Please don’t @ me with slippery slope arguments. Of course there’s a line, and in the famous words of Justice Stewart, “I know it when I see it”. </p><p>But on the whole, while I’m incredibly disappointed—and sure, incredibly angry—about my situation, all I can do is wish them well on the causes we share, and wish them enlightenment on those we do not. </p><p>🤷🏼</p><p>4/4</p>

Coalition-building often means working with people with whom you agree in one area and disagree in others; that’s reality. </p><p>But they crossed a line when they refused to refer clients to another organization whom they believed (incorrectly, though not the point) to be “partnered with a heavily <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Zionist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zionist</span></a> organization”. </p><p>Yes: they literally denied assistance to their own, needy clients rather than refer them to a charitable <a href="https://babka.social/tags/Jewish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jewish</span></a> organization, unrelated to Zionism altogether, due to its imagined association with a third group (in this case, a Jewish Federation) to serve others in need. </p><p>What’s more, when I raised the issue, I was essentially cancelled. 1/</p><p><a href="https://babka.social/tags/antisemitism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>antisemitism</span></a></p>
