Dźwiedziu<p>Today's adventures with <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Akonadi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Akonadi</span></a>:</p><p>- doesn't wait for network to be up and kwallet to be opened to say “can't download element without network connection” with broken UTF characters,<br>- throws an error notification thar disappears from the notification centre,<br>- a moment later says that the PIM module is “not ready for work”, with a start button that does nothing,<br>- `akonadictl status`: sever stopped,<br>- `akonadictl start`: server already running,<br>- `akonadictl fsck`: server not running, no fsck</p>

ticho<p>I tried to like <a href="https://mas.to/tags/kmail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kmail</span></a> and the whole <a href="https://mas.to/tags/KDE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KDE</span></a> PIM thing, I really did, but after several months of suffering where it worked more against me than for me, I decided enough is enough.</p><p>This Outlook-level over-engineered piece of crap is getting purged from my computer, together with the <a href="https://mas.to/tags/akonadi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>akonadi</span></a> malware.</p><p>😠</p>

Meine Güte, damals... eine Terminanfrage kam als abgelehnt zurück, beim Verschieben aus Kmail raus *Klatsch-Batsch* alles mehr oder weniger unreparierbar zerschreddert. Mailkonto hinzufügen, Fehler im Passwort oder so... Dialog geht dreifach erneut auf und Zack... siehe oben.</p><p>Heiße Zeiten damals, hat sich aber wirklich gemausert. Anfangs war es zwar, gerade mit Blick auf <a href="https://heikosart.eu/search?tag=KMail" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KMail</span></a>, manchmal ein wahres Drama, aber ich hatte mir damals sogut wie möglich gemerkt, wann welche Probleme aufgetreten waren. Dabei geblieben war/bin ich bis heute.</p><p>Denn, den Komfort, den ich (trotz der früheren Probleme) mit Komponenten wie <a href="https://heikosart.eu/search?tag=KAddressbook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KAddressbook</span></a>, <a href="https://heikosart.eu/search?tag=KOrganizer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>KOrganizer</span></a> und all den anderen Komponenten genieße, möchte ich nicht mehr missen.</p><p>Und mit etwas Glück... ist "Drama, Baby, ja nun einigermaßen gegessen. :smile:</p>

Ich finde auch, das es in der Vergangenheit im Zusammenhang mit dem #<a class="" href="https://hub.tschlotfeldt.de/search?tag=Akonadi" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Akonadi</a> -Backend geholpert hatte. Das ist aber merklich weniger geworden.

Anders Lund<p>IT WORKED - finally I'M IN!!!!<br>Installing the prebuilt images with fastboot failed, but resorting to pmbootstrap worked - so now I have a <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/oneplus6T" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oneplus6T</span></a> phone with <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/postmarketos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postmarketos</span></a> and <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/plasmamobile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>plasmamobile</span></a> 6 on it.<br>I did order a simcard for it, but I haven't gotten that yet, so testing calls and sms must wait a few days.</p><p>How ever lots of things works - I can browse the internet with angelfish, look at photos, connect to bluetooth devices, record sound, play music, use KDE Connect, set alarms and use timers, view PDFs, use the shell and more ...</p><p>i can't use <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/tokodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tokodon</span></a> (it freezes when trying to log in), so this is posted from my laptop, and my <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/nextcloud" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nextcloud</span></a> account configured in the plasmamobile settings does not work - no contacts or calendar events that way, or browsing files for that matter. <a href="https://expressional.social/tags/Okular" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Okular</span></a> shows a meaningful error message regarding files: webdavs:// fails. I&#39;m not even sure if it&#39;s a good or a bad idea. And even if it gets merged, it will be optional. I rewrote the process management code to make it extensible, so in the future we can also run Akonadi as a Windows Service or whatever is native on MacOS, with fallback to the mechanism we use today)</p>
