#guix peeps... There are some services that need secret info which shouldn't be in the publicly readable /gnu/store/... directories. For example #yggdrasil where you put a secret key in a file /etc/yggdrasil-private.conf. But I still want a way to have a declarative OS configuration so there aren't too many manual steps. I'm thinking to git clone the config directory (from my NAS) to the machine, and have the config create an /etc/... symlink to a file in the git repo. Any other suggestions?

#guix friends. So I'm beginning to work on building my router VM using GUIX. Some things I want are documented as guix services. Example: #yggdrasil so I can add that as part of (services ...)

but for example I want a #squid proxy, and I don't see a services definition in the manual. How do I ensure

1) ensure squid starts at boot, and remains running

2) specify the contents of /etc/squid/squid.conf from the GUIX declarative config? (I have the text already from an existing config)
