🎙️ “AI is niet de output.” Marvin Koppejan, oprichter van Woodwork – met focus op visuele identiteiten, motion films en immersive werk voor merken als Google, Vans, Adidas en Polestar – stelt: 👉🏼 “De vraag is niet wat AI kan maken, maar hoe je een product écht mooier en beter maakt.”

💡 Techniek is bij ons nooit het vertrekpunt. "Of het nu cel-animatie, 2D, 3D of film is – alles draait om hashtag#originaliteit. AI gebruiken we als een soort stock generator binnen dat creatieve proces."

In het interview gaat Marvin in op de balans tussen kwantiteit en kwaliteit. Hij noemt het gevaar van generieke AI-content 'de magnetronmaaltijd' vergeleken met het werk van een chef-kok 🍽️ – "shortcuts leiden vaak tot smakeloze output."

A lot of this week's #pyrography has been on coasters and phone stands. Two "blank" ones at the back have a celtic design and our village name on them.

The #SWTOR Twi'lek is my own phone stand. I just re-burned the picture, so it's not as good as if I'd started again, but I'm the only one that sees it. My camera also made it look rougher than it appears in my hand.

The coaster is also one of mine re-burned, and re-coated.

Three hand-made, wooden phone stands in front of each other. I haven't shown the full ones at the back because they have the name of our village written in Celtic lettering. My MIL has a craft shed that she opens during tourist season so I'm making a few speculative pieces to see if any sell. I am assuming nothing will sell, so that if anything does it's a bonus, rather than required. The phone stand at the front is a Twi'lek from Star Wars: The Old Republic. Next to that is a coaster ("under cup", sous-tasse) with a path leading from the front to between mountains in the distance. The caption is "There's always a way", which is also written in my fictional language.

Hands for rent made: restoration of seven wooden chairs for a befriended place. Work terribly long but rewarding and having much less strain on my body than expected (but oh, you should see my back muscles now). Chairs were sanded to remove old yellowed varnish and caked-on dirt, then polished and revarnished. Could do that over again.
