David HembrowI've painted the shed and the fence this morning, planted a few veg, and now it's time to build a new wheel for my two-wheeled recumbent.The freehub in the existing wheel has decided to be "free" more often than it should be. Sometimes it works just fine, and other times when I pedal the pedals just spin without doing anything. I'll probably take the hub apart and see if it's salvagable, but first I'll get the new wheel in use.It's an old bike, about 27 years old now, but it suits me. It's comfortable, nice to ride, and I'm used to it. This is the fourth time I've rebuilt the rear wheel. Light Wolf StudioDu bist kein Standard, dein Rad muss das auch nicht sein. Ergo: Custom! Wir bauen dir deinen Laufradsatz, wie du ihn brauchst. So wie in diesem Fall - mit Boost-Naben für den Graveleinsatz. Wir nutzen die HOPE "Pro 5" in feinstem Rot - vorn 110mm, am Hinterrad 148mm Breite. Und paaren diese mit unserer 36mm hohen und 26mm breiten Haus-Carbonfelge. Die ist schlicht und schick - und passt so optisch zu jedem Rad. Dazu jeweils 24 Messerspeichen von SAPIM. Wie immer belastungsgerecht eingespeicht. Ergebnis: 1430 Gramm Leichtgewicht, trotzdem steif genug für jedes schnelle Gravelabenteuer und eben auch für den gewünschten Road-Boost-Einsatz geeignet. Zum Beispiel um den passenden individuellen Laufradsatz - so wie in diesem Fall: der 56mm hohe Aero-Rennrad-Laufradsatz für moderne breite Bereifung. Denn die "Baccara RX 56" Felge von Duke Racing Wheels ist nicht nur hoch und damit aerodynamisch angepasst, sondern mit 25mm Innenweite auch ordentlich breit. Dank neuer Fertigungstechnologie müssen die Felgen nicht mehr nachlackiert werden. Kombiniert mit der Legende, der 240EXP von DT Swiss und jeweils 24 Messerspeichen kommt der Satz auf nur 1440 Gramm. Zu hoch? Wir verbauen auch gern die flacheren Varianten. Noch mehr? Die Felge existiert auch in 65mm Höhe.
