Vegan Easy<p>Last month, Sahyuri Lalime (Sahy) from Belgium smashed her first World Record at the European Open Classic Powerlifting Championship in Málaga, Spain! 💪🌱</p><p>She set a new World Record in the Squat for the M1 63kg division with an incredible 182.5kg lift – nearly three times her body weight! 😲🔥</p><p>Even more impressively, Sahy broke 11 records at the competition, including the M1 European record for total across all lifts. Absolute powerhouse!</p><p>A committed vegan for around ten years (and vegetarian for 12 before that), Sahy’s decision to stop eating animals stems from deep compassion:</p><p>“[It is] based purely on not wanting to kill animals. Having experienced the trauma of losing my mother when I was kid, I became very sensitive to death and didn’t want to take part in bringing that type of pain and suffering to others.”</p><p>🌟 Congratulations Sahy on this epic performance – we can't wait to see what you conquer next!</p><p>👉 Learn more: <a href="https://www.greatveganathletes.com/news/world-record-for-vegan-lifter-at-euro-championships/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">greatveganathletes.com/news/wo</span><span class="invisible">rld-record-for-vegan-lifter-at-euro-championships/</span></a> </p><p>Thinking about going vegan? Vegan Easy<p>REAL SCIENCE, Not BRO SCIENCE 💪🌱</p><p>Bradie Crandall, aka Vegan Hercules, is a powerhouse in the USA powerlifting scene, Bradie has already reached international standards at a young age—all while fuelling his success on a vegan diet.</p><p>With a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bradie takes a scientific approach to training and nutrition:</p><p>🧪 “I take a very scientific approach to my diet and training. That’s one big advantage I feel that I have over most powerlifters who tend to heavily rely on bro science.”</p><p>🔥 “People rarely give me a hard time about being vegan because I’m typically stronger than them. My best advice for a new vegan lifter? Get stronger than the critics and let your results speak for themselves.”</p><p>⚙️ “I view the human body as a mechanical object. This lens allows me to use my technical training as an engineer to take a calculated approach to optimizing athletic performance.”<br>Bradie is proving that plant-powered athletes can dominate in strength sports. Keep an eye on this rising star! 🌱🏋️‍♂️</p><p>👉Learn more: <a href="https://greatveganathletes.com/bradie-crandall-vegan-powerlifter/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">greatveganathletes.com/bradie-</span><span class="invisible">crandall-vegan-powerlifter/</span></a> </p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Vegan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Vegan</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/VeganHercules" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VeganHercules</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/VeganStrong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VeganStrong</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/PlantBuilt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PlantBuilt</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Powerlifting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Powerlifting</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/VeganStrength" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VeganStrength</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/VeganAthlete" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VeganAthlete</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/GreatVeganAthletes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GreatVeganAthletes</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/VeganPower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VeganPower</span></a></p>
Vegan Easy<p>From Powerlifting to Strongwoman: this is Veronique Cormier's journey to a national Canadian record in the most iconic of strongman events – the Atlas Stone.</p><p>57kg lifter Veronique, quickly made a mark on powerlifting with a raw squat well over double bodyweight, a raw total over six times bodyweight and World Championship qualification.</p><p>Since then she’s added a national title in strongwoman.</p><p>Veronique has been training hard with the atlas stones, and was keen to work on the 100kg one – approaching double her weight. It wasn’t easy, although she went from being barely able to get it off the ground to lifting it over the bar in training.</p><p>The recent Canadian Nationals gave her a chance to try all aspects of her strength, followed by a record attempts session.</p><p>Admitting to a weakness in deadlifts she managed 9 x 300 lb to win that event, confident it would have been no reps a year ago. She also won a sandbag medley and atlas stone ladder to finish second overall.</p><p>As if that wasn’t enough, she then attempted the 220lb stone, and cleared the bar.</p><p>“I worked really hard on stones this prep from not getting the 220 stone more than a few inches off the ground to making it look so easy on the day,” Veronique told Great Vegan Athletes. “The announcers were convinced I would get 245. It’s not there yet but definitely the next goal.”</p><p>Amazing effort Veronique! 🌱💪 </p><p>Read the full article here: <a href="https://www.greatveganathletes.com/news/from-powerlifting-to-strongwoman-leafys-journey-to-the-national-record/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">greatveganathletes.com/news/fr</span><span class="invisible">om-powerlifting-to-strongwoman-leafys-journey-to-the-national-record/</span></a> </p><p>Photo credit: @leafylifter</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/leafylifter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>leafylifter</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/veganstrongwoman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>veganstrongwoman</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/strongmancompetition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>strongmancompetition</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/vegan4life" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vegan4life</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/plantbuilt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>plantbuilt</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/atlasstone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>atlasstone</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/recordbreaker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>recordbreaker</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/plantstrong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>plantstrong</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/veganstrong" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>veganstrong</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/vegan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vegan</span></a></p>
