#unlocking

Not sure if others have had this issue, but since I got my Apple Watch Series 7 45 mm, I've had to fight to enter the passcode after putting the watch on my wrist.

Invariably I'd have to repeatedly press/swipe/shake it, and it would reluctantly present the passcode screen so it could be unlocked. And sometimes it would do the opposite, showing the passcode screen with false entries as I was trying to put it on my wrist.

But since the newest beta, it comes up exactly when you'd expect it to!

Not sure if Apple intended to fix this issue, but I'm glad they did, and hope it makes it into following betas/production.

Ever wonder how crooks get the #credentials to unlock stolen #phones ?

A coalition of law-enforcement agencies said it shut down a service that facilitated the #unlocking of more than 1.2 million stolen or lost mobile phones so they could be used by someone other than their rightful owner.

Ars Technica · Ever wonder how crooks get the credentials to unlock stolen phones?iServer provided a simple service for phishing credentials to unlock phones.

a is easier than expected. Contrary to a typical locked device, there is an official method to do it. At some points, the OS even guides what to do on the screen!

It's possible to unlock it down to without any special tools except a screwdriver.

There's even a way to unlock and reflash (!) without a screwdriver, but then you need to build your own not-quite-USB cable. I wish someone told me that before I cracked the case open :P
