I have a practical way that allies can support one of my transgender friends.
A low-income friend of mine here in #Oklahoma is getting her legal name changed to reflect her true identity. While it is possible to do this pro se (without an attorney), I've agreed to file the paperwork as her attorney and to be with her in court so she won't have to be alone when talking to the judge, but also to be ready in case the judge gives us any problems.
I will be doing this pro-bono, however, I am going pass the virtual hat to cover the cost of the court costs and the required legal notice that must be published in a local newspaper. The total cost is $200.
