Kevin Bowen 🐭<p>Migrated my <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/RSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RSS</span></a> feed reader from liferea to RSS Guard last week.</p><p>I've been a bit frustrated with liferea for a while now: slow and not terribly responsive. As a result, articles have been piling up, unread. Along with the teeny anxiety in the back of the mind feeling like it's falling behind on a daunting, ever-growing reading list. </p><p>Been using RSS Guard for ~week and it feels light &amp; responsive(even as a flatpak app, no less!). </p><p>I'm comfortably spending more time reading my subscriptions &amp; gently sloughing off that tiny bit of dread. 🎉 </p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/PaperCuts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PaperCuts</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/TinyVictories" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TinyVictories</span></a></p>

Nate<p>I recently picked up a used infrared-only converted Panasonic GH2 <a href="https://xoxo.zone/tags/MicroFourThirds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MicroFourThirds</span></a> camera. Kevin Bowen (has moved) :xfce:<p>Very satisfying &amp; productive day working on my little <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Django" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Django</span></a> learning projects.</p><p>Sucessfully upgraded the first(of ~16) of the apps to Django 5.1.1 &amp; migrated to <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Python</span></a> 3.13. All of the tests (nox, linting, coverage, GH actions) passed. Docs updated. </p><p>While I&#39;ve been in a bit of a motivational rut lately, all of the learning &amp; work put in over the last year has make this a really seamless &amp; error-free process.</p><p>Feels good.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/TinyVictories" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TinyVictories</span></a></p>

Kevin Bowen (has moved) :xfce:<p>Pretty happy with getting a handle on generating <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/coverage" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>coverage</span></a> reports with the badge &amp; publishing them with GitHub actions.</p><p>Probably pretty basic stuff for most folks; but, I like that I&#39;ve built up a muscle memory for the process &amp; it&#39;s not _really_ dull repetition. Lucas Miller<p>Back when I worked in IT, I was strictly on software duty (the shop was a bit different than typical IT departments - I wrote more software than I troubleshooted) - the other people in the office largely did hardware stuff like making Ethernet cables and running/chasing them. I was always a little bummed that I never learned how to do any of that - until a couple days ago! </p><p>Finally made a 50-or-so CAT6 cable and ran it through three garage to the basement and it worked! Also adds/updates were fine outside of Poetry. </p><p>Odd.</p><p>Turns out I need to &quot;poetry cache clear PyPI --all&quot; Never had that issue with Poetry before.</p>
