edwardchampionTHE QUIET EARTH (1985) is a greatly underrated movie (full movie on YouTube below). The premise is simple. A scientist (brilliantly played by Bruno Lawrence) wakes up to find that he's seemingly the only man left on Earth. But he's not. And there's some dark quality which unites all those who managed to survive. What makes the film work so well is the strange atmosphere and a subtle investigation about what constitutes living.
