The clips show empty pushchairs rolling onto tracks and a parent falling while alighting with a buggy. This year, GTR recorded 13 child-related safety incidents at stations, up from 36 last year. The main causes are parents alighting forwards with buggy wheels caught in gaps and children not supervised when boarding or leaving trains.

GTR urges passengers to hold children securely, use buggy brakes on platforms, strap children in, and stay behind the yellow line. To help, GTR is distributing 840 copies of Arlo’s Adventure Rail Safety book at 12 stations with the highest incidents, including Gatwick Airport, London Victoria, and East Croydon. Samantha Facey, GTR’s Health, Safety & Security Director, stresses the need for vigilance to keep families safe during busy summer months.
https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/govia-thameslink-railway/pressreleases/uks-largest-train-operator-urges-buggy-safety-awareness-during-rail-safety-week-3392959
