Alaska Airlines choices of new routes for the 787 Dreamliners they got with the Hawaiian Airlines acquisition show they've been asking customers what they want. Initially Pacific Ocean routes for Hawaiian are to Asia. Then Alaska's transatlantic route announcements to Rome, then London & Reykjavik.
Why Reykjavik? #Iceland is popular with tourists in Summer. My hunch is the upcoming August 2026 total #SolarEclipse in Iceland maybe was a factor. #aviation #travel #avgeek #astronomy #Eclipse2026

Two European satellites mimic a total solar eclipse as scientists aim to study its corona.

The satellites have created the first artificial solar eclipse by flying in precise formation, providing hours of on-demand totality for scientists.

Dubbed Proba-3, the €181 million mission has generated 10 successful solar eclipses so far.

ESA released the eclipse pictures at the Paris Air Show on Monday.
