From 3 March trains will run again between Sant Vicenç de Calders 🇪🇸 and #Tarragona after 5 months of closure.

However, a modified timetable will last unil 25 May due to works in the Sant Vicenç station. Thus through services won't stop there (buses run from/to Torredembarra).

Regional trains between Barcelona and Lleida that were used to run via #Valls, will be rerouted via Tarragona, #Reus and #Alcover (!). A train shuttle runs Sant Vicenç <> La Plana.

While my dad was a little immobile and my brother, his wife, and their kids were more interested in simply relaxing, for my wife and me our week in Spain in 2012 gave us a good chance to head off and explore the region. After one day seeing what there was in the town of Salou where we were staying, we took the bus to nearby Reus on day two. This was the birthplace of the architect Antoni Gaudí, and as I'm pretty fond of architecture we took a look around a museum about him while we were there. From later in the day, pictured is the Plaça de les Peixateries Velles, the old fish market.

A empty public square in a European city, almost universally light, warm-coloured stone. It's a long but not very wide space with square paving stones laid diagonally across the open area. Buildings either side of the long end are five storeys high with the upper three storeys supported by an arcade with stone blocks curved with Romanesque arch openings. In the shade under the arcade on the left there is seating for a café or restaurant, while on the right we can shop fronts with shutters down at the moment. At the far end of the more small tables and chairs with parasols have been set up either side of a low wall with large square opening in it to allow egress from this space. Beyond the square another building in the same yellow-white stone as we see here stretches across the gap; a tall window and octagonal tower structure to the left suggest it is a medieval church.

Aquesta tarda, mentres tombava per #Reus he trobat un bitllet de 50€ sospitosament innocentment posat damunt d'un arbust a la plaça Llibertat.

Jo l'he vist, però l'he ignorat perquè pensava "50€ aquí al mig, ben a la vista...; de segur que són falsos o és una trol·la, no cal ni que em molesti en intentar d'agafar-lo".

Una hora i remitjó més tard, he tornat a passar pel davant i ja ni rastre del bitllet.

D'ençà aleshores que em pregunto si el bitllet aquest era real o no... xD

Random photo from the #travel archive. This is the Plaça del Mercadal in Reus, Spain in 2012. The main building ahead is the town hall while that to the right in pale green is Casa Piñol. Those and most of the buildings around this square are Catalan Modernist in style, an eclectic early 20th century approach to transform Catalan culture. Gaudí, who was born in Reus, was a proponent of this architectural style.

A typical city square in a European city with a wide, open space tiled with bricks and an eclectic mix of buildings around its edges. We're looking across at one corner with the building to the left standing out on account of its bell tower on its left, foremost corner. The building itself is light stone with two larger lower storeys and a smaller upper one. A large door with stone columns and lintel around it stands centre. There are a few buildings to the right with one sporting a fancy façade in pale green and an ornate, raised centrepiece over the top of its fourth storey. The sky is cloudy from our view but the sun is bright from behind us and everything feels hot. A few people walk across the square.
